The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship
Frodo Baggins (played by Elijah Wood) wants to destroy the One Ring before the evil Lord Sauron can get it back Helping Frodo on his journey are his companions, as well as a wizard (Ian McKellen), an elf archer (Orlando Bloom), a dwarf (John Rhys-Davies) and a ranger (Viggo Mortensen). As the journey becomes more difficult, Frodo must make a difficult decision and make the burden of the ring his own.
The film was directed by Peter Jackson and stars Cate Blanchett, Sean Bean, Liv Tyler, Ian Holm, Christopher Lee, Andy Serkis and Hugo Weaving.

The Beach
Richard (played by Leonardo Di Caprio) travels to Thailand and is given a strange map leading to an isolated beach. Excited by the idea of this tropical paradise, he sets out to find it. He convinces two fellow travellers to travel with him to the mysterious island, where they find a commune living in harmony with nature. But Richard also makes a discovery that will lead to trouble.
The film was directed by Danny Boyle and stars Tilda Swilton, Virginie Ledoyen and Robert Carlyle.
Out of Africa
Karen Blixen (played by Meryl Streep) is a Danish woman living in Africa with a man she married for his wealth. As she grows restless with her husband and her life on their coffee plantation, she begins a relationship with a hunter and traveller who shows her a better life outside the farm.The film was directed by Sydney Pollack and stars Klaus Maria Brandauer, Michael Kitchen and Malick Bowens.

Schindler’s List
Oskar Schindler (played by Liam Neeson), a greedy German businessman, opens a factory in Poland during World War II using Jewish workers. After witnessing his workers' suffering and learning of their barbaric treatment at the hands of the Nazis, Schindler becomes a humanitarian, turning his factory into a refuge to save Jewish lives.
The film was directed by Steven Spielberg and stars Ben Kingsley, Ralph Fiennes and Caroline Goodall.

Cinema Paradiso
In a small Sicilian village, Salvatore (played by Jacques Perrin), returns to his home after many years as a movie director. He is there to attend the funeral of the town's film projectionist, who taught him when he was a boy, just after World War II. Salvatore remembers the years spent in the dark cinema learning about life and love.
The film was directed by Giuseppe Tornatore and stars Marco Leonardi, Salvatore Cascio, Philippe Noiret and Agnese Nano
